I first met Kaethe Burt O’Dea from Bí Urban (pronounced “Bee” Urban) the night of my Synesthesia talk in May and in June I had my Naturama exhibition up in her workshop/studio/shop space. She is one of those rare people whose enthusiasm is matched with action and she always makes things happen!
I have 84 prints in my Naturama collection so I had a selection (20 prints) in this exhibition. We had a lovely opening night on June 22, with a homemade elderflower cordial being the hit drink of the night! We had lots of fun and lovely guitar music by Ben Prevo. It was so nice to have a little celebration with old and new friends. The weekend that followed was the hugely popular Stoneybatter Festival so we had a lot of visitors. It stayed up for just over two weeks and I was extra happy that some of the framed prints sold and are now in their new homes!
I got my prints made at The Copper House and the frames are from Rocker Lane Workshop, I highly recommend both companies for amazing quality of work and excellent customer care.
Thanks to everyone who came to see it and big thanks to Kaethe for inviting me into her beautiful space. Make sure and pop into Bí Urban if you are in Stoneybatter. The address is 3 Manor Street and they open 12-6 Tuesday to Saturday … they have loads of honey/bee related products, and soap and essential oils where you can create your own scent. I also have a few framed prints from my Naturama series for sale there at the moment and you can buy signed copies of Naturama and My Naturama Nature Journal there too!
