We had our Halloween Party in Fumbally Exchange and I wanted to add a little atmosphere to our party room. I told the stories of our four Fumbally Ghosts and drew them out on big A0 pages….

Fumbally Ghost # 1 : John Flynn, 1885-1911

Cause of Death:

Bleeding

Story:

Died when operating a 2 man printing press. He was working alone on a Saturday and got his arm trapped in the machine. He bled to death.

How he Haunts:

John whispers “help me” on Saturdays only, when people are working alone.

Josephine Gilhooley

Fumbally Ghost # 2 : Josephine Gilhooley, 1891-1911

Job:

Typist

Cause of Death:

Broken Heart

Story:

Josephine was engaged to John Flynn. When she heard about his tragic demise, she could no longer stay alive. Her heart simply stopped the day John was laid to rest.

How he Haunts:

Josephine quietly weeps in the corners of Fumbally Exchange. You can sometimes hear her if you are speaking on the phone in one of the corners.

Bartholemew

Fumbally Ghost # 3: Bartholemew, 1982-1984

Job:

Seagul

Cause of Death:

Death by misadventure

Story:

Bartholemew met his death when he flew into the third floor window during a ferocious storm.

How he Haunts:

He taps on the window with his ghostly beak on rainy days.

Keith Tighe

Fumbally Ghost # 4 : Keith Tighe, 1991-2009

Job:

Bicycle Courier

Cause of Death:

Starvation

Story:

Keith got trapped in the basement when the building was abandoned in 2009. The gates were locked and the shutters were down. Alas he eventually went mad and died from starvation.

How he Haunts:

He rattles the gates and shutters throughout the day and sometimes puts them out of order mischievously.
