Week three started with quick ink sketches based on the film Shadow of Forgotten Ancestors. We had prepared concertina books with a light ink wash as background. (Concertina books are just made with nice sketch paper folded up and taped together so that you can get a good run at it.)

Our next exercise was to develop a new piece combining ideas from one of the earlier sketches. I really wanted to explore my coloured pencil textures, combined with a linear theme from week one. So I used the carnival/ribbon ink drawing from the film as my starting point.
