I am delighted to confirm I am hosting a workshop at Leitrim’s most fun music and arts festival, Phase 1 on Saturday 19th April 2014.

I designed a short capsule workshop focusing on the techniques I use everyday of the week in Illustrator for my illustrations: Live Trace and the Blob Brush. This is perfect for people who already love doing hand drawings (on paper) and want to learn how to digitise their work. Once you have these two techniques mastered you can have endless hours of fun creating beautiful drawings in Illustrator.

The workshop is organised along with the support of Harnessing Creativity.

If you want to participate:

Sign up on the Phase1 website here. ****It’s now booked out but you can add yourself to the waitlist here too****

Participants will need to bring their own laptops (and mice!) with Adobe Illustrator CS6 or CC installed.

You can get a free trial of Illustrator CC (lasting one month) from the Adobe website here.

(The class requires the most recent version of Illustrator so if you already have an older version please download the free trial of CC to work on in class (you can have different versions installed on your computer at the same time).)

Also please bring a mouse (or tablet if you already use one) as trackpads can be limiting for drawing with.

I have great notes written for everyone to bring home with them.

The class takes place in the Dock, Carrick on Shannon on Easter Saturday, April 19th 2014. Registration opens at 3.00, class starts at 3.15 until 5.15.

I’m so happy to get a chance to do an illustration workshop in my hometown! And really looking to celebrating with a night of dancing after.
